What we do
At matchbox solutions we primarily are involved in two broad streams of activities :
1) We identify a critical business segment which is badly in need of technology and process improvements, and we directly create a sustainable business model around it and execute it
2) We provide solutions or take up consulting assignments for clients and other entrepreneurs on specific initiatives which are new, challenging or unique where our background and expertise would be a key value addition
Our solutions and services broadly fall under these parameters and guidelines. These help us to focus and gain depth in areas which we see are currently under-represented at this point.
-
There is a critical gap or demand for a certain service in the market which is not fulfilled by any provider (Primarily in India or developing countries)
-
The problem space involves a combination of technology, people, processes and finance - so one needs to 'connect-the-dots' to evolve a successful venture
-
The service caters to a critical social need , preferably for people at the bottom of the pyramid
-
The business model would be transactional, where primary users are willing to pay per use
-
The service once developed can be scaled up and across , and mass marketed
-
Matchbox would be the key 'glue' between the various partners in the system
Farmers Exchange : Direct Farmer To Consumer Supply Chain
eFarm
is India's first community driven Farm-to-Home Supply chain solution for
buying/selling farm based produce in a transparent, economical and efficient
manner . Through a network of farmers associations, logistics providers,
micro finance institutions, NGOs and Self Help groups eFarm has created
an effective reverse supply chain channel from villages to cities.
Consulting
As Indian IT software companies are all focused towards international
customers and revenue , we find a big gap when it comes to requirements
coming from Indian customers. We offer expert technology and management
advice in key areas aligned with specific domains and verticals. We
see this as a first step to know more in depth about upcoming potential
opportunity areas where we could collaborate on a longer term relationship.
Key consulting areas are :
-
Technology Consulting : Overall frameworks for transactional portals - B2B, B2C,eGovernment, eCommerce. Our bias is more towards open source, low cost and community driven software. Our specific domain specializations are in Insurance, Finance , Agro based industries and Supply Chain systems.
-
Product / Vendor Selection : In an industry filled with jargons, we do the myth busting to provide you the best set of tools and technologies based on a custom evaluation of your organization's needs and skill sets
-
Training and Mentoring : In this global recession atmosphere, increasing customer demands , and freeze on corporate budgets , both small and large organizations are forced to play a balancing act between meeting immediate demands and training . With years of professional expertise in handling critical projects , and having managed techno-commercial roles at global firms, our consultants provide the best bang-for-the-buck when it comes to focused need based training. facing challenges on case based/need based training for their teams. We help in boot strapping your existing team, filling in the technology gaps, and provide mentoring to your team .
Distance Education :eteacher.in
India's
education system is bursting at its seams . On one side is a growing population
of school/college aged people and increased demand from parents for quality
education for their wards. On other end is lack of infrastructure and
teachers to handle even current load. To add to that is increased pressure
of competitive exams . And cut off from this all is the poor rural students,
whose aims of making it big in life are restricted by access to even primary
education.
With internet penetration and adoption improving by the day, even advanced nations are moving to online education models in a big way.
We would be setting up a shared, low cost platform for educational content delivery and assessment for schools and colleges who want to reach a larger target audience and dont have the resources to do that.
RampUp : Disabled Access
The
disabled people's plight in India is a sad mix of apathy and sometimes
misdirected empathy . Though they represent close to 10% of the population,
and enough laws exist to they are at best an unseen , unheard and invisible
force. Their issues are plenty - lack of proper infrastructure, lack of
employment opportunities, lack of security etc.,
Matchbox is teaming up social service organizations to first make our public spaces disabled friendly. This would encourage the abled and disabled to interact at same level, thereby increasing their viability in the society. The long term plan is to to setup a consultancy , employing the disabled themselves, to conduct disability audits and certification of built spaces.
